Fun At Work

If the workplace allows some fun, no Jack can ever be a dull boy!

My day today would have been just another day - analyzing client requirements, executing test cases, preparing test reports and scratching my head over metrics - had it not been for this absolutely fantastic Quilling workshop. The hour-long session was a welcome breather for all of us present there!

I had seen pictures... I had heard friends doing it but I had no idea how interesting and addictive quilling could be. The intention with which I attended the workshop was to know the basics of this art and I came back with the urge to do more! Thanks to Neha, a colleague and friend,  for taking the initiative to share her skills. Please do pay her a visit at Steps Towards Crafting.

Here are some of the pictures from today's session.

From where it started...

... to a practice final.

The placement of the pieces could have been better but what more do you expect when the people attending the workshop were trading every single strip *wink* and I my watch reminded me of all the pending work. Anyway, I hope to go back to my latest favorite store, I told you all about here, soon and lay my hands on some quilling material and come up with a better result.

For now, this was the Second of Firsts after the First of Firsts we saw here!!

First of Firsts...

After last week's sneak peaks, it's time that I update y'all with some details. Don't expect much, as this is gonna be just one at a time.

Remember the first picture in the last post? No! Not a problem... what are friends for... here it is!

Last to last week, Hubs and I went out for shopping. My eyes wandered from one corner of the market to another in search of an arts and crafts shop... and I finally managed to find one!! What's more, the store offers a 20% discount on all items, throughout the year :D I picked up a box of acrylic colors, which are also MY FIRST set of acrylics!!

Other buys included some sheets suitable for the new colors and these....

With all these new and attractive things in the house, the creative itch just got worse. I started off with a very simple project, as I was a little apprehensive with the way acrylics would treat me. To tell you the truth, with water as a medium, I was not very happy with the start but thankfully, the end was not all that bad either!

Color Club

Along with being the first acrylic painting, this is also my first attempt with 'Doodles', hence the post title 'First of Firsts'.

Off to the next...

Sneak Peak

Heylo Hailo Hellooo...

With the sun shining brightly over (almost) all of us... and some extra hours of daylight in our kitty, I am sure all of you must be having a gala time.

Well... for us here in North India, the weather conditions, with the temperature reaching 45 C ( =113 F), were not so friendly until the Rain Gods finally came to our rescue! Thanks to the brief showers that brought the soaring temperature under control, we actually got a chance to take our attention away from sweating and overheating.

With the cold breeze and overcast sky outside, only the regular house-hold chores and no extra hours at work, I got my chance to get back to what I simply adore! and you are most welcome to have a look.

Simply scroll down...

Only Sneak Peaks for now, friends. The details to follow soon.

Now please don't go back and check the date for the last post! I know I have been away for almost 2 months ( 2 Months!!! ) but I promise this time 'soon' is not gonna be too long **wink**

Meanwhile, share with me about the things you do when the weather is just perfect and even work permits you to leisure around? Yes, I am drawing inspirations here!!

See ya soon!!
